Introducing Karen from A Timeless Love

Tell us a little about yourself ?

I am so proud to have been awarded Winner of the 2022 Wedding Industry Award for Marriage Celebrants. I am also ranked top 4 ABIA NSW Celebrants, and I recently received top 25 ABIA Designer of Dreams National Award. I truly love what I do, and I want my couples to have the very best experience on their wedding day as they wed their forever love.

I became a Celebrant nearly 10 years ago. I wanted to create amazing ceremonies for my couples and importantly ensure the process was stress free and fun. Since obtaining my qualification as a Civil Marriage Celebrant, I have officiated hundreds of ceremonies. I've created valuable resources that I provide to my couples giving them helpful guidance on how we can create an amazing and personalised ceremony, how to write their wedding vows to each other, different ways to express their love when the rings are given, and other ways to incorporate lovely rituals and readings in their ceremony.

All of the couples love my resources, and they tell me they find the process so easy and happy, and they enjoy being a big part of creating their dream ceremony. Once I have created their draft, I then email it to them, and we can fine tune it so on the day, there are no unwanted surprises or awkward situations, and they can relax knowing I absolutely have their back, and we have done all the hard work, and we all enjoy the ceremony.

What do you love most about your role as a celebrant?

Every couple, and every ceremony is so very different. I love getting to know my couples, and what’s important to them, and capturing their personal story into their bespoke ceremony. Just as every couple is different, what they would like to include must be discussed and created for them. Its vital to me that they are very comfortable with how I conduct their ceremony in front of their family and friends, and they can relax and enjoy this amazing day in their lives.

I ensure they relax when they first see each other after walking down the aisle, before starting their ceremony, so they are fully in the moment, and importantly enjoy and remember the moment they marry their amazing partner. After spending so much to get to that very moment, they deserve a few moments to tell each other they look amazing, and its actually happening, and then relax and be in the moment as the ceremony unfolds. We share a happy rapport with all the important details captured, and they can relax knowing I have their back and we are creating their dream ceremony.

3 important tips (or don'ts) for couples when it comes to planning their ceremony?

Get to know your Celebrant – ensure you have an open and amazing rapport with them. Is the Celebrant proving you with helpful information and guiding you on how great your ceremony can be, and how easy the process can be under their professional care and support?

Check that your Celebrant has regular and fantastic testimonials from past couples! Honest feedback from couples will give you the best insight into how amazing your Celebrant is, and what support and guidance they gave in the lead up, and importantly on the big day! Follow them on social media and ensure they are working regularly, and check the small things in the photos, such as how they are dressed at each ceremony and if they are happy and relaxed, and setting the scene for a great ceremony.

There are over 9,000 Celebrants Nationally, so don’t select a Celebrant based on their service fee alone. You truly get what you pay for, just like a tradie, you want quality and absolute confidence in who you engage to do a fantastic job. Base your selection on the support, testimonials, and rapport you have with your Celebrant who truly loves what they do and are absolutely committed to ensuring your day is special. I always tell my couples, that I base my reputation on what I love to do, and I enjoy their ceremony just as much as they do, because its paramount to me to excel and provide happiness and quality to my couples. I love to have family and friends come up to me after a ceremony, saying it’s the best wedding they have been to, and I drive away so happy knowing that I have given my couples an amazing ceremony, just as we planned together.
